I got my 1st Derby jacket as a hand-me-down from my dad's closet in my early teens. I got #2 and #3 on opening day of the Haight street store on that black Friday years ago. I'll never forget the line to get in. Many hats, hoodies, and tee shirts later, I wanted to take it back to the start and get another jacket, this one in a color I never thought I'd consider, khaki. My other ones were black, grey, and blue. They're a classic symbol of The City, and if you know, you know. There's something unique about how they cut the chill from the fog. I've had them in my closet for 40+years , and always keep 1 in my car.
